Implement a strong producer responsibility system and reduce single-use plastic packaging
Subject: Implement a strong producer responsibility system and reduce single-use plastic packaging
Your Letter:
Dear Gov. Polis and the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment, Microscopic bits of colored plastic recently were found in 90% of Colorado water samples. One important step in reducing plastic pollution is to require the companies that use plastic packaging to pay for the environmental impacts of those materials -- an approach known as “producer responsibility.” This step will incentivize companies to use less plastic packaging and transition to more recyclable and reusable products. I strongly urge you to implement a strong producer responsibility system in Colorado. Sincerely,
