Help cut dirty air pollution: Call on the state to approve a strong ozone reduction plan

Dear Air Quality Control Commissioners,

Please ensure that the state’s ozone reduction pollution plan, also known as a SIP, cuts ozone pollution enough to ensure we meet EPA air quality standards.

For too long, Coloradans living along the Front Range have been exposed to dangerously high levels of ozone pollution. Ground-level ozone pollution can cause or worsen respiratory conditions such as asthma, can damage plant life, and can negatively impact whole ecosystems.

From reducing emissions from the oil and gas industry and from lawn equipment, to expanding transportation options like transit, to tackling ozone-forming pollutants that come from buildings and other industries, we have many options for cleaning up our air.

We can’t afford to miss the mark. Please ensure the state’s ozone plan has strong enough actions so we can have clean air in Colorado.

Sincerely,
